For me, the Powerful setting seems to work best.ĩ- IMPORTANT: Workaround for audio lag is to enable the "Stereo Mix" device and "Listen to this device". This caused so many problems for me and took a while to figure out. But do not leave it on the default which is Extreme. Open the App, and under Amplify Level, make sure to select Performance or Powerful. If not, you can try to download it from the Microsoft Store.

But meanwhile, the steps below at least made my new PC useable. I really HOPE that ASUS continues to work and fix these problems. Here are the steps that I took which eliminated MOST but not all of the problems. I've seen a lot of people complain about sound problems (lagging, static, noise, pops, etc.) on their new ASUS Z690-xx based builds with Realtek ALC4080/ALC4082 audio chip, especially with Windows 11 for some reason.
